If you’re unsure whether your device is protected, follow these detailed steps to check if Trend Micro Security is properly installed on various devices, including Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.
For Windows
To check if Trend Micro Security is installed on a Windows computer, follow these steps:
Press the WINDOWS key + R on your keyboard at the same time to open the Run dialog box.
In the Run dialog box, type appwiz.cpl and press ENTER to open the Programs and Features window.
Scroll through the list of installed programs and look for Trend Micro. If it is listed, then Trend Micro Security is installed on your computer.
Open Trend Micro Security, and you should see the word Protected to ensure your device is protected.
For Mac
To check if Trend Micro Security is installed on a Mac, follow these steps:
Open Finder icon in your Dock.
Go to Applications > Utilities.
Double-click Activity Monitor.
In the search bar, type Trend Micro. If you see any related processes, it’s installed and running.
Open Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac, and you should see the word Protected to ensure your device is protected.
For Android
To check if Trend Micro Security is installed on an Android device, follow these steps:
Open the Google Play Store.
Tap your profile picture in the top right.
Tap on Manage apps & devices from the dropdown menu.
Tap on the Manage tab.
Under the Installed tab, scroll through the list of installed apps to find Trend Micro. If it is listed, then Trend Micro Security is installed on your Android device.
Open Trend Micro Mobile Security to check the expiration date and confirm your subscription is active
For iPhone and iPad
To check if Trend Micro Security is installed on an iPhone or iPad, follow these steps:
Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
Scroll down and tap on General.
Tap on iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage if you’re using an iPad).
Scroll through the list of apps to find Trend Micro. If it is listed, then Trend Micro Security is installed on your iOS device.
Open Trend Micro Mobile Security to check the expiration date and confirm your subscription is active.

- Enter your Activation Code and click Next.
- Click Download to get the installer.
- Run the downloaded installer by double-clicking it.

- Start Setup: Click the Get Started button.
- Create/Sign In: Log in to your existing Trend Micro account or create a new one using your email/phone, then set a password.
- Enter Code: Input your 20-digit activation code (found on your product box or receipt) and agree to the license terms.
- Download & Install: Click to download the installer, run the file, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
To install Trend Micro Maximum Security, go to its activation portal, sign in or create an account, enter your activation code, download the installer, run it, and follow the on-screen prompts, accepting the license and completing the setup for Windows/Mac, or use the relevant app store for mobile devices.
To install Trend Micro on another computer, go to the Download tab, and use the “Share” option ” to get the installer, then run the file on the new computer and follow the prompts to activate with your license or account details.
Visit trendmicro.com/activate and click Get Started.
Sign in or create a new Trend Micro Account.
Enter your Activation Code and click Next.
Click Download to get the installer.
Run the downloaded installer by double-clicking it.
Follow on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
